Out of the tens of thousands of exposures and hundreds of HDR photos I have taken over the years, this may be one of the images I am most proud of, taken at a church, right on the Stanford University campus. I find myself proud of it for a number of reasons. The first being that this was taken on a photowalk workshop with Trey Radcliff aka Stuck in Customs. I have followed Trey’s work closely for over 3 years now, and to be able to shoot with him and hear him talk about his approach to photography over the 2+ hours was truely a one of a kind learning experience I will never forget. The second being, that this was a VERY difficult location to shoot in. It was almost pitch black, and I couldn’t make out what I was aiming at or seeing through my view finder or LED screen. I basicly guessed where the the lens was pointing and took the 5 exposures, not knowing if I was anywhere close to what I was trying to shoot. It turned out to be spot on. And third, I am not a religious man by any means, but this image brings a feeling of peace and beauty that can’t be matched by 99% of the images we store in our memory throughout our lifetime. I still can’t believe Standford University has such a beautiful place. I hope you can enjoy this image as much as I am! Taken with Canon 450D EOS XSI. 5 exposures (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2). Tone Mapping with Photomatix. Sharpened with NIX Sharpener Pro View my photo blog at michaelbonocorephotography.tumblr.com/
